Piccolo Orso and Piccola Orsa live in a world of snow and ice that is slowly beginning to melt. One day, while fishing together, the ice beneath their paws breaks and separates them. Searching for his sister, Little Bear sets off on an adventurous journey and discovers the importance of protecting the environment.
On stage, their story becomes an interactive music theatre experience: students sing along with the performers and actively take part in the action. Created for UNESCO’s International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation, the opera combines music with science and sustainability. Preparatory training sessions for teachers provide ideas for environmental and civic education. Additional teaching materials are provided by the CNR Institute of Polar Sciences, the opera’s scientific advisor.
