A first encounter with opera is something special. With Opera Baby, children aged 6 to 36 months experience music theatre together with parents, grandparents or other familiar caregivers in an environment designed especially for the youngest audience members. Music, movement and play create space to watch, listen, marvel and take part. The children are free to move around, respond to sounds and movements and experience the performance with all their senses. There is no need to sit still or be quiet: they can experience music in a way that is natural for their age. The music of Gioachino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville accompanies the youngest audience members on their first journey into the world of opera.
