Description

Bonn, Germany, 1776. It is night, and in the cellar of the Beethoven family home, two old, bored toys are about to start playing when, suddenly, little Ludwig is dragged into the cellar by his father, Johann. Left alone and forced to play the piano, young Ludwig improvises four simple yet iconic notes on the keyboard (da-da-da-daaa) magically bringing the two toys out of hiding. And so begins an extraordinary adventure through Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, leading the young Ludwig, with the help of his unlikely toy companions, to discover that his passion for music can take him further than he could ever imagine. Inspired by the true story of Beethoven, the performance combines live music by the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento with theatre, comedy, and dance. A lively and interactive experience that invites young audiences to discover one of Beethoven’s most celebrated masterpieces, as we mark the 200th anniversary of the composer’s passing.
