Description

Sieva Borzak, a rising talent on the international scene, leads the Haydn Orchestra in a programme spanning eras and styles. The concert opens with the Overture to Mozart’s Così fan tutte, the quintessential opera buffa. This is followed by Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite, a twentieth-century tribute to the Neapolitan commedia dell’arte. The programme then turns to a rarely performed work, Vieri Tosatti’s Divertimento, by an Italian twentieth-century voice deserving of rediscovery. The concert concludes with Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony: written after a journey to Italy, it is radiant and dance-like music, one of the most beloved masterpieces of the Romantic era. Four composers, four ways of looking at tradition with ever-new eyes.

In collaboration with Comun general de Fascia, Istitut Cultural Ladin and the Municipality of Moena.
