Timothy Redmond studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, the University of Manchester, and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. He continued his studies with masterclasses under George Hurst, Ilya Musin, Yan Pascal Tortelier, and Pierre Boulez. Redmond has also worked as an assistant to Elgar Howarth, Valery Gergiev, and Sir Colin Davis. Currently, he is a lecturer in conducting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the music director of the Cambridge Philharmonic, and the principal guest conductor of the London Symphony and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He has conducted numerous orchestras, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Ulster Orchestra. The conductor also has a strong focus on contemporary music, particularly the works of composer Thomas Adès, with whom he has collaborated multiple times. (Updated 2023)
Christina Bauer ha studiato elettroacustica, musicologia e slavistica a Vienna e Mosca. Nella sua veste di sound director è regolarmente ospite presso festival internazionali in stretta collaborazione con compositori, ensembles e orchestre quali il Klangforum Wien e i Wiener Philharmoniker. Da anni collabora insieme a festival quali Wien Modern, i Salzburger Festspiele e il donaufestival. Dopo la regia del suono per Judith (2016) e Le Malentendu (2017) a Vienna e Madrid, Die Antilope è la sua terza collaborazione con la Neue Oper Wien.
Nato a Montréal nel 1968, Marco Mandolini ha studiato presso il Conservatorio della sua città con Johanne Arel e Raymond Dessaints, diplomandosi brillantemente in violino e in musica da camera. Dal 1997 Marco Mandolini è Spalla dei primi violini dell’Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento con la quale è apparso numerose volte come solista e primo violino concertatore.
The Haydn Orchestra was founded in 1960 at the initiative of the municipalities and provinces of Bolzano and Trento. Its repertoire ranges from the Baroque to contemporary music. The orchestra has taken part in numerous international festivals, appearing in Austria (in Bregenz, Erl, at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the Musikverein in Vienna), Germany, Japan, Italy (at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Sagra Musicale Umbra in Perugia, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Anima Mundi in Pisa, MiTo SettembreMusica in Turin, and the Biennale Musica in Venice), the United States of America, Switzerland, and Hungary.
Among the conductors who have appeared on its podium are, among others, Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Chailly, Jesús López-Cobos, Neville Marriner, Riccardo Muti, and Jeffrey Tate. After the nearly thirty-year tenure of Andrea Mascagni, the role of Artistic Director has been held by Hubert Stuppner, Gustav Kuhn, Daniele Spini, Giorgio Battistelli, and André Comploi (from 2025).
