In a world of snow and ice live the bear siblings Piccolo Orso and Piccola Orsa. But their home is changing. One day, while the two are fishing, the ice beneath their paws begins to crack – and suddenly they are swept apart. Piccola Orsa finds refuge with the mysterious Ice Queen, while Piccolo Orso sets out in search of his sister. Along the way, he meets Mangianeve, who wants to build an amusement park right here, in the bears’ world. For Piccolo Orso, this marks the beginning of an adventurous journey full of unexpected encounters. But the ice continues to melt, the glaciers are retreating, and the home they know is in danger of disappearing. It soon becomes clear that there is more at stake than simply finding each other again. Together, the two must find a way to save their world.
On stage, the story becomes an interactive music theatre experience: the children in the audience sing along, respond to the action and accompany Piccolo Orso and Piccola Orsa on their adventurous journey. A story about friendship, solidarity and a changing natural world, created during UNESCO’s International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation.
